Senior Software Engineers | Location: Holmdel, NJ

This individual will develop and maintain software for the Index Engines’ Linux application that is developed using the Scrum Agile methodology that focuses on delivering quality over schedule and release content. The application is written primarily inn C-Language with some Python. This individual will:
  • Work as member of a Scrum team
  • Work with other Scrum team members on the software design
  • Implement and unit test required software
  • Work with other Scrum team members to integrate software modules and ensure that system operates per requirements
  • Support QA testing
  • Attend daily Standup Meetings
  • Attend weekly engineering team meetings to report on project status and understand the organization’s goals and priorities  
In addition, the individual will support existing software. This would involve fixing issues identified in bug reports what could be originated internally or by customer. This individual will work closely with the Index Engines’ Support Organization to resolve customer issues.

Job Requirements

The ideal individual for this job will require minimal supervision and will enjoy working in a challenging and highly collaborative environment. Index Engines has a small, but highly talented, Engineering team that works in a professional environment that provides individuals with flexibility to manage their work and time.

Specific job requirements are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related filed
  • Knowledge of the Linux operating system
  • 5+ years of experience with C-Language and Python
  • Ability to work as part of a team

Software Support | Location: Holmdel, NJ

Index Engines has an outstanding career opportunity for a Software Support Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with technical knowledge and 1-3 years’ experience in storage or backup technologies. The ideal candidate will provide technical software support, product installation/deployment and implementation support to customers and partners in this fast paced and rapidly growing organization.


  • Provide post-sale technical support by working directly with key partners and end users.
  • Diagnose hardware, software and operational issues.
  • Communicate case status internally and externally.
  • Work with QA and development resources to prioritize, debug and deliver fixes to end customers.
  • Provide customer feedback to product teams.


  • Experience providing software support.
  • Strong Intrapersonal skills.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Associates/Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Basic administrative experience with Linux environments.
  • Experience with backup software/technology is a plus.
  • The ability and desire to learn the detailed workings of our software using a variety of methods including, documentation, videos, labs and most importantly proactive study and experimentation.
  • Familiarity with server hardware, and networking is a plus
  • Desire to learn new technologies
