CyberSense 8.12 Release Notes: What’s New & Improved

The latest CyberSense® release from Index Engines™ introduces support for high-demand workloads and improvements to help tailor analysis to customer environments, provide greater visibility into policy execution, and simplify license management.

What's New

  • Support for Cloud Deployments in Azure: CyberSense can now be deployed into a customer-owned Azure tenant, bringing customers the ability to build or extend cloud-based recovery vaults.
  • Trusted Files: Trusted Files is a powerful tool that allows users to fine-tune how CyberSense handles specific unrecognized file types. This helps reduce false positives without excluding those files from analysis or compromising detection accuracy. This feature gives customers greater control over how CyberSense functions within their environment.

Enhancements & Improvements

  • Policy Progress: A new UI enhancement shows real-time policy execution status and phase durations, making it easier to identify slow or stalled scans and improving visibility into data analysis activity.
  • Improved License Management: Updates have been made to simplify how licenses are activated and managed.
  • Support for Commvault DDBoost Client Direct Workloads: While CyberSense has previously supported the DDBoost Media Agent, this release introduces support for Client Direct in Commvault Backup & Recovery 11.36+.
  • Additional Workload Support: CyberSense 8.12 now provides support for:
    • PowerProtect Data Manager 19.20
    • NetWorker 19.13, Avamar 19.13
    • Commvault Backup and Recovery 11.38
    • Cohesity NetBackup 11.0

CyberSense 8.12 builds on our commitment to helping customers mitigate the impact of ransomware attacks by expanding CyberSense’s coverage. With broader workload support and options for tailored analysis, this release empowers teams to protect their data across a wider range of environments and deployment scenarios.
